About the Event

Mr Tsang Man-sang is a retired Senior Court Interpreter of the Hong Kong Judiciary. During his tenure of office, he interpreted at various court levels, especially in some of the high-profile trials. He served as a member of the Judiciary Consultative Committee on Translation, and was a certified translator appointed under the Evidence Ordinance, whose duty was to certify English translation of legal documents for production as evidence in court trials. He is currently working as a freelance interpreter / translator registered with the Judiciary and other government departments. His academic writing includes Glossary on Personal Injury Cases, Interpreting Foul Language in Court Trials, etc. In this sharing section, Mr Tsang will talk about his experience in legal interpreting and also introduce essentials of legal interpreting. A Q&A session will be included.
