About the Event

Members from SLCO Community Resources will deliver a talk about medical sign language in Hong Kong and their related experience, followed by a workshop to teach you how to sign different symptoms. There will also be a Q&A session where you can communicate directly with our invited speakers.

About SLCO Community Resources:

SLCO Community Resources Limited (SLCO-CR) was established in 2016 as an independent non-profit charitable organisation to provide self-sustainable

community services based on linguistics research, empirical evidence and experience in frontline services. The vision of SLCO-CR is to promote sign bilingualism in communication, education and social inclusion and to create a diversified community without communication barriers.

Guest Speakers:

Ms Man Ho Ching Heidi is a sign language interpreter of SLCO-CR with 4 years of experience in sign language interpreting. In 2020, she graduated from the Professional Diploma Programme in Sign Language Interpretation organised by the Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong. She has interpreted in the areas of education, sports, performing arts, talks, conferences, etc.

Ms Bou Suet Yee Amy has been engaged in bilingual sign language education for over 8 years and is committed to promoting the educational development of the deaf. She has completed the Diploma Programme of Deaf Education, the Certificate Programme in Sign Language Teaching, and the Fun with Sign and Speech Instructor Training Programme at the Centre for Sign Linguistics and Deaf Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong.
