About the Event

Mr Johan Arnborg is a community and conference interpreter, specializing in judicial settings.

Over the past 10 years, he has served for many notable organizations, including the national Swedish Courts, international judicial bodies, the European Parliament, the European Commission and the European Union Court of Justice. He has acquired a wide range of knowledge regarding the role of the interpreter in international legal conflicts. His main area of interest is how to faithfully convey "foreign" conceptions of justice.

In judicial settings, one of the major challenges for the interpreter is to deal with judicial liability. Therefore, this talk aims at discussing how to maintain a high level of trust in different legal contexts, despite the numerous difficulties we face in a courtroom setting, and without compromising our professional neutrality.
